An Seomra, 74 Main St, Midleton

Ilse de Ziah and Ian Date lived in Ireland for many years. Between them they have toured on every continent. After a truly mesmerising performance in An Seomra last year for Midleton Arts Festival, Ilse once again brings her wild cello playing to An Seomra, this time with Ian Date in their duo De Ziah & Date. In this concert they will present their take on music from their debut album "Here and There". Written and recorded in Ireland and Australia. They will also present music from places such as Mexico, USA, Scotland, Hungary, Norway and South America. The music ranges from classical, celtic, jazz, world and original works. Ilse De Ziah is a cellist and composer famous for her cross-genre style. She has worked across contemporary, classical, rock and roll, traditional Irish, jazz and experimental music. As a cellist, De Ziah is known for her daring and emotionally charged performances which connect at a deep level with people from all walks of life. Ian Date is regarded as one of Australia’s great guitarists. Known for his lyrical, inventive style and virtuosity, Date has performed extensively as a jazz musician since the 1990s. ‘Beautifully recorded, virtuosically played, wonderfully diverse and so emotionally engaging...what’s not to love?’ – James Morrison on Here & There Visit
